#5-95E. Reassuring Evidence: Malignancy Risk in IgG4-Related Disease (Ann Rheum Dis, 2026)
2026年10月14日 12:00·6分22秒
Does an IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD) diagnosis truly elevate long-term cancer risk? In a single-center retrospective cohort study of 348 patients followed over a median of eight years, incident malignancy rates were comparable to the general population (standardized incidence ratio, 0.88), with submandibular gland involvement surprisingly linked to lower risk. Although this study's single-center design in a predominantly White cohort limits generalizability, these findings reassure clinicians that IgG4-RD itself is not oncogenic. Consequently, physicians can counsel patients confidently without ordering excessive cancer screenings.
