#5-80E. Real-World Protection: Updated COVID-19 Vaccines in Autoimmune Rheumatic Diseases (Arthritis Rheumatol, 2026)
2026年9月29日 12:00·4分15秒
Do updated COVID-19 vaccines provide meaningful protection for patients with autoimmune rheumatic conditions receiving immunosuppressive therapies? In a national cohort of over 60,000 patients, receipt of updated 2023–2024 COVID-19 vaccines was associated with a 69% reduction in hospitalization odds (aOR 0.31) and substantial protection against critical illness and death compared to unvaccinated individuals. Although potential residual confounding and incomplete EHR vaccination records warrant cautious appraisal, these findings underscore the vital importance of maintaining current vaccination coverage. Clinicians should actively recommend updated COVID-19 boosters to optimize real-world clinical outcomes in this vulnerable population.
