#6-14E. Dual Action in Sjögren’s Disease: Evaluating Phase 3 Ianalumab Trials (NEJM, 2026)
2026年11月2日 13:00·5分37秒
Can targeted B-cell depletion and BAFF-receptor blockade transform the management of Sjögren’s disease, a condition long lacking approved disease-modifying therapies? In two phase 3 trials, monthly subcutaneous ianalumab significantly reduced systemic disease activity at 48 weeks compared to placebo. However, critically appraising these findings reveals that the reduction in disease activity was modest, and no significant differences were observed in secondary outcomes, including patient-reported symptom scores for dryness and fatigue. For clinicians, while monthly ianalumab provides a targeted biological option to lower systemic disease activity, symptomatic relief remains an ongoing clinical challenge.
