#5-57E. Target and Treat: Filgotinib’s Impact Across the Axial Spondyloarthritis Spectrum (ARD, 2026)

How can we achieve rapid and sustained disease control in patients with active axial spondyloarthritis who respond inadequately to first-line therapies? The Phase 3 OLINGUITO trial demonstrates that the selective JAK1 inhibitor filgotinib significantly improves clinical outcomes (ASAS40) and objective inflammatory markers in both radiographic and non-radiographic axSpA as early as week one; however, its long-term 52-week data must be interpreted cautiously due to the lack of a control group in the open-label phase. These findings offer clinicians a robust, fast-acting oral option to confidently manage patients across the entire axSpA spectrum.
